Cousins

The last time Charlotte saw Rogers girls, Caitlin and Riona was when she was about 6 months and couldn't do much but sit up and drool. Monday at my mums was great for her. She loved the girls and followed them about, with great fun reflected in her face.

She likes her Granny B as well. This is sad because Granny B spends most of the time just sitting, but my Mum loves to see Charlotte, even more when she gets a kiss from the two year old.
It was lovely to see Roger and the girls and we did talk with Roger just about stuff, and made the journy to HamiltonsBawn easier, especially on Julie. Whan we got home she asked me if i see Mum differently than ten years ago. I have no idea, I tend to take these subtle changes as they come, boiling frogs.
Back to Charlotte. On the journey home, pyjamas on, singing 'Bal-a-more-y' over and over, untill eventually the batterys run out. 'Bal, a, more, y; Bal. A. Mor.....'
An dthe long journy is when Julie and I talk.

"Trust her to know about catholic stuff"

Had to do a bit of cross community education today, for all teh good it would do.
Girl C: 95% of red heads are Catholic.
Me: How do you know?
GC: Because it's true.

Boy S: You can tell a catholic because they have beady eyes close together. ( this reminds me of an episode of Dad's Army where Mainwaring was describling a german paratrooper, with the aid of a government picture. He concentrates on the beady eyes, sloped back and bow legs, and not the uniform).

This one is the best...
During a quiz
Q: What do you call a 5 line poem?
Girl H: A limerick.
Girl C (again): Truct her to know about catholic stuff!
Me: Thud, thud, thud!

If your nappy and you know it...

We have started potty training. (sorry, no pictures).
This has to be the most difficult parenting experience I have faced yet, even harder than the black poo.
Friday evening, within one hour, she was on the potty 4 times (no result), wet herself 3 times and pooed herself 3 times. If it wasnt for Julies, her controll and gentle pressure, I could not do this. I want to rub her nose in it, or let her run nakid in the back garden for a few days, as nature intended; but Julie told me not to (something to do with social services).

Julie is still being sick, and now has bad back pain.

Why it's called "blue" tooth!

One of the 'problems' with the young people in the centre has been camera phones, especially the ones that can take and show movies. A few weeks ago (basicly after Christmas) there was a rash of movies, some porn, some violent and snub (movies showing people dieing or fake deaths). There isn't much we can do about this. The screans are small and hard to see, but you do get 5 young people round the same phone, you know there is something up. Our basic tactic is to let the camera owner know that there are certain things we do not allow on the phone, and then try tostand near when there is a 'show'.
Todays movie (which we didn't ban) was a fight between two girls in alocal school. So much for holywood blockbusters.

New Kitchen

Thanks to the indispensible Rountrees, Charlotte has the use of a kitchen, and boy, does she love to use it.

back

Sorry i havent updated for a while, but I feel swamped.
I have been to a smoking in the work place and government change to alcohol legislation conferences (and you really don't want to hear about that). I have had updated CPA training, which is monotonus, but neccesary. I am struggling in my course and now have an assignment. I just feel bogged down with stuff. I have been preparing stuff for Bible Class and amongst this, working and spending time with family.
Other than that I am fine.
