R.I.P. Steve Rogers 1941 -2007
Captian America is dead, again. Killed by a sniper under the orders of the Kingpin, our hero is dead. Comic fans have not met tis with shock. Why would we. There uses to be a saying that nobody in comics stayed dead, except for Uncle Ben and Bucky. That was untill Bucky turned up alive and well (in a story line similar to the one happening in DC where Batman's dead Robin turned up alive and well). The doors to heaven are said to be a revolving door in Marvel universe. In my reading time i have had seen nearly every charicter to have a shock death, only to turn up again alive and well. So it is not about if Cap will rise again, but when, ie, when Marvel needs another sales boost.
In other news, Lalla Ward, who played Romana (II) in Doctor Who is married to evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins (who had an interesting interview with William Crawley here.)
Bought 'Bacon Sandwiches and Salvation' by Adrain Plass today, really nice poke fun at the church book that makes you think. Encyclopedia of terms used in church (not origional, but funny).
eg Raised from the dead: (1) restored to life after physical decease (2) brought up as an Anglican.
Funny ha ha.
