Anglo Ulsterland
In the Belfast Newsletter this week, a letter appeared that suggested that because the name 'Northern Ireland' told the readers that we are Irish, that we should be renamed 'Anglo Ulsterland', because we are British, and some people here are descended from English. Ruth in work came up with a better name. Because a lot of the protestant community have a Scottish family connection (even if they have to go back 400 years), we should be called in this little part of the world 'Anglo Ulsterscotlandland'. If anything, it sounds better than the first suggestion, and it will not confuse the Americans at all. No way. Says exactly what we are.

Ah, but that ignores the complexity of immigration/emigration over the last several millennia.
How about (deep breath):
CeltoScotVikingNormanAngloScotArmadaFrance IndiaChinaPakistanBarbadosLituEstoniaLativaPolandLand?
I bet the Americans would never find that on the map.
